Horsham Motorcycle Club will host the 2014 Australian Women’s Motocross Championship on 12-13 April.

The Victorian venue ran the Australian Junior Motocross Championship last year, now set to stage the women’s titles for the first time since 2005.

“Our club loves bringing big events to Horsham and our region needs that lift after the fires have once again ripped a hole in the Grampians and surrounding areas,” said Horsham MCC president Kenny Watts.

“We’ve stepped up and taken the first round of the [Victorian] senior titles, which happens to fall one month before our event, so all can come do the senior VIC titles get that track time and see why it is awesome in Horsham.”

Last year’s women’s title was cancelled due to a lack of entries, scheduled for Lake Macquarie in New South Wales last October.

The Horsham event will also feature an MX Amateur category, consisting of Opens and Lites categories, C-grade all powers, Over 35 Veterans and a C-grade women’s class. Junior classes will be hosted on the Saturday.
