SuperEnduro win in Mexico keeps Knight's title hopes alive

Championship going down to the wire between enduro giants.

World enduro legend David Knight won the fourth round of the 2014 Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in Mexico on Saturday, maintaining pressure on defending champion Taddy Blazusiak.

Knight inched to his second overall win for Sherco with 2-1-3 finishes, ahead of Red Bull KTM’s Blazusiak with a 1-3-2 scorecard. 18 points separates the pair in the series with two rounds remaining.

Second Red Bull KTM rider Jonny Walker won the Superpole to open the night, eventually rounding out the podium in a consistent showing of 2-3-7.

Husqvarna’s Mathias Bellino won his first SuperEnduro race in the final despite an early crash in the log pit, clawing his way back past both Knight and Blazusiak to secure fourth overall in the process.

The FIM Maxxis SuperEnduro World Championship continues with the penultimate round of the series in Barcelona, Spain, on 9 February.
