Australian Lawson Bopping has been sidelined ahead of this weekend’s opening round of Monster Energy Supercross at Anaheim in California.

The 24-year-old was poised to contest the season-opening rounds of American Supercross at Angel Stadium, preparing in California since December.

However Bopping today confirmed that injuries to his shoulder sustained in a mid-week practice crash have forced him to delay his anticipated debut.

Bopping’s future currently remains uncertain following a frustrating two seasons at CDR Yamaha in 2012 and 2013, expected to return to Suzuki machinery this year.

A regular visitor to America, Bopping’s last international appearance was for Team Australia at the 2012 FIM Motocross of Nations in Belgium.

Bopping is hopeful of returning to the track at an upcoming round of American Supercross following further evaluations on his injury.
