Red Bull KTM rider Marvin Musquin’s season is in doubt after suffering a torn ACL during testing.

Preparing for the upcoming Monster Energy Supercross season in the US, former world champion Musquin will be forced out of the East Coast Supercross Lites title chase.

It was initially thought the injury was minor after tweaking his knee in a turn, however he’s now scheduled to undergo surgery in France this week.

“This is an unfortunate injury, but we know Marvin will do the all steps necessary to recover as quickly as possible and come back when he is 100 percent,” commented Red Bull KTM Factory Team manager Roger DeCoster.

Musquin’s injury leaves Australia’s Dean Ferris as Red Bull KTM’s lone Lites class contender at this point, recently confirmed for the West Coast Supercross season. KTM’s factory support will extend into the Rockstar Energy Racing team for 2014, fielding Jason Anderson.
