Taylor Potter is confident a fourth place finish in the this year’s Australian Supercross Lites Championship will set him up for a consistent campaign in the 2014 Monster Energy AMA East Coast Supercross Lites series.

Potter will depart for the US in January with his sights firmly placed on main events aboard his privateer Honda CRF250R.

“The racing will be good preparation for the East Coast Monster Energy AMA Supercross as I’m heading back to the States early January 2014 and I’m looking to go a lot better than 21st place,” Potter commented.

“I’m aiming for all the finals and with my Honda I’m pretty confident that I will be able to achieve good results.”

Fourth at Toowoomba’s Australian Supercross final was a strong way to conclude the series, cementing fourth in the series to match with support from A1 Motorcycles.

“I’m very happy with my Honda and as a privateer it’s been a great experience with a bike that has been able to perform as well and even better than a lot of the factory team bikes,” he added.

“The racing at Towoomba was tight and fast and a good gate saw me up the front and, other than a few hassles passing lappers, I was able to keep on the pace and get my best result of the championship.

“The six rounds came up fast and went quickly and as usual there are a number of people that I have to say a big thank you to for their support and sponsorship,” he said.

“The really important people include my parents, my girlfriend Alex and my manager, bobcat/excavator driver, maintenance man, tuner Adrian and my sponsors A1 Honda in Ringwood, Honda MPE, Fox, Motul, Pirelli, JT Sprockets, RK Chains, Vortex Ignitions, The Collective decals, Krooztune, xpracing.com, Scott, Alpinestars, Tag, Funnelweb Filters, Yarra Valley Conference Centre, Sewing Machine City, KokodaRacing.com.au, Mainmoto.”

Potter will be hosting a fundraising dinner and auction ahead of his US trip on 6 December in Melbourne. Contact [email protected] for details.
