Defending champion Gavin Faith has put his SX-Lites title tilt back on track with a clean-sweep of the 2013 Terex Australian Supercross Championship rounds at Phillip Island over the weekend.

Carlton Dry Honda Racing’s Faith won both Saturday and Sunday’s main events alongside the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, regaining the championship lead for for the first time since Darwin’s opener.

Now with one round remaining, Faith was able to capitalise on injury for arch-rival Luke Styke to extend a slender five-point advantage in the standings.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend,” Faith said. “I was so disappointed in myself after Mount Gambier, but I think I am definitely back on track now.

“My goal was to come to Australia and take back-to-back Pro LItes titles, we are now in a good position to achieve that goal.

“I won’t be doing anything different in terms of preparation for the final round, we will keep to our plan and try and carry this momentum forward.”

Faith’s results were also the first victories for the 2014 Honda CRF250R, which he debuted at Mount Gambier the weekend prior to Phillip Island.
