Joel Brown will enter this weekend’s fourth and final round of the Australian FMX Championships (AFMXC), the Precise Pro Open in Mackay, Queensland, with a target firmly on his back.

With a number of the series title contenders, including veteran FMXer and series leader Matt Schubring and Underground championship points’ leader Callum Shaw tied up with other riding commitments, Brown has found himself in the driver’s seat to bring home the 2013 title.

Still recovering from a broken ankle he suffered at the previous round at Boonah, Queensland, Brown will have to battle both the pain and challenges from multi-time Underground Tour champion Joe Sheppard, Gold Coaster Pete Anderson and the always-improving Luke McNeill before he can be crowned the 2013 champion.

The Precise Pro Open will also mark the first competition appearance of the late, great Tyrone Gilks’s brother, Morgan Gilks.
