Recently-crowned FIM Motocross MX2 World Champion Jeffrey Herlings will miss the upcoming Motocross of Nations (MXoN) in Germany after it was confirmed he suffered a broken shoulder blade at the Belgian Grand Prix.

The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team rider has dominated proceedings in 2013, illustrated as he sewed up his second 250cc class title at Loket in the Czech Republic, well in advance of the season’s final round to be held in early September.

Herlings returned to action in Belgium with the aim of completing a season undefeated, however his plans came unstuck as he crashed in the qualifying race, originally diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder.

The updated injury report means the teenager who recently became the most successful ever Dutch rider will not contest the remaining GPs, nor the MXoN in Germany.

This development further depletes the superstar international lineup at the 29 September event, with 2013 450 class AMA Supercross and Motocross Champion Ryan Villopoto ruled out due to scheduled ankle surgery.
