The final haul of medals have been awarded in the Moto X classes at the Los Angeles X Games, with Australian riders Blake Williams and Meghan Rutledge earning silver in their respective events.

The second day of competition at the Staples Centre opened with the Moto X Step Up Final, with Ronnie Renner reaching 38.5 feet to claim the gold medal.

Second was Libor Podmol, a foot shy, with Matt Buyten reaching the 36.00 foot mark for the final medal.

The duel for Moto X Speed & Style gold came down to an entertaining showdown between Nate Adams and Blake ‘Bilko’ Williams.

Williams got the edge on the start and the pair were level-pegged on tricks before the Aussie made a small mistake and crashed trying to keep Adams behind him.

The end result was a gold medal to Adams, with a 114.251 score. Multiple X Games medallist Williams added a silver to his stash, earning 85.00 from the judges.

A high-profile field, including Australia’s Chad Reed, took on the Mens Moto X Racing final, with Justin Brayton earning gold over Josh Hill and Chris Blose after a solid comeback effort.

Reed appeared to have the early advantage but was run into a corner on the tight track, dropping to the rear of the field as the rest of the riders made their break.

Josh Hill held the lead for much of the contest but lost his advantage after Brayton forced his way by on the final lap.

Reed fought back to medal contention but could not find his way past Blose on the run to the finish line.

Aussie Meghan Rutledge was cruelly denied gold in the Womens Moto X Racing Final after coming off her bike just one corner from the finish line.

Rutledge took the early lead and was controlling the pace comfortably. As she hit the up ramp of the last jump on the course she pumped her fist but her front wheel tucked sharply on landing, throwing her off the bike and handing the win to Vicki Golden.

A disappointed Rutledge held on for silver, with Kiara Fontanesi claiming bronze.

In the other Moto categories, Mike Schultz claimed Adaptive Moto X Racing gold, while Taddy Blazusiak won the Enduro X final.
