Fan Guide: 2013 MX Nationals Rd3 Wonthaggi

Australian Motocross Championships continue this Sunday in Victoria.

The 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals make their way to Wonthaggi in Victoria this weekend for the third event on the 10-round schedule.

In the premier MX1 class it’s Motorex KTM’s Todd Waters who continues to lead the pack, holding a 19-point lead over CDR Yamaha’s Billy Mackenzie while CDR teammate Lawson Bopping rounds out the top three.

An upset occurred in the MX2 class at round two, with Serco Yamaha rookie Luke Clout earning his first overall win. Teammate Luke Styke still maintains his series lead, while Clout jumps into the second place slot 13-points behind with Kale Makeham holding down third.

The MXD class returns for their second round of racing in Victoria this weekend, Jack Simpson leads the charge in that category with Jesse Dobson and Hamish Harwood chasing him down.

This weekend’s event also serves as the opening round of the unique KTM 2-Stroke Cup, the two-stroke only event will feature riders such as veteran Cameron Taylor and former Under 19s Motocross champion Errol Willis.

MotoOnline.com.au will compile an official pre-race Fan Guide ahead of every round in 2013.
