Serving as one of the few manufacturers currently developing their two-stroke Motocross models, KTM are proud to once again support the 2013 KTM 2-Stroke Cup set to take place during the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals season.

Spanning over four rounds at selected events, the KTM 2-Stroke Cup offers riders the chance to drag our their premix machines, battle it out and please the fans with that crisp sound at the same time.

Kicking off at Coolum’s 2012 season finale, the event saw a full grid of riders and KTM Australia’s general manager Jeff Leisk believes it was a great success – prompting the Austrian-based brand to stand behind the series again this year.

“Last year’s one-off KTM two-stroke nationals event at Coolum was extremely successful and it proved there’s a lot of interest out there from both competitors and spectators,” said Leisk. “So we’re very proud to commit our support to the expanded KTM 2-stroke Cup in 2013.”

Supporting two-stroke mounted riders such as Kale Makeham in the MX2 class, KTM are keeping the two-stroke culture alive as they continue to develop their highly competitive ‘SX’ models.

“KTM are passionate about two-strokes,” he added. “We’re continuing to develop new technology in this area at a time when development among the other major manufacturers is all but non-existent.”

The 2013 KTM 2-Stroke Cup will kick off this weekend at Wonthaggi’s round three, before making its way to Appin, Echo Valley and the sands of Coolum for the season finale.
