Murray Bridge’s round two of the Monster Energy MX Nationals will be a day to remember for Serco Yamaha’s Luke Clout after edging out teammate Luke Styke for his first-ever overall MX2 win.

The 18-year-old rookie began his round two assault with a second place qualifying position behind his teammate Styke, before blitzing the field in moto one and scoring his first-ever MX2 moto win.

Clout then put together a strong second place ride in moto two behind Styke to lock down his landmark overall MX2 victory after just two rounds of competition in the class.

“I’m so pumped right now,” said Clout. “This is my first race win for Serco, my first MX National round win in the MX2 class and it’s just been an awesome day.”

The overall win will be a day to remember for the Sydney-based rider after years of hard work and dedication to get to this point.

“It’s been a lot of hard work for me, my family and the team but the feeling I got when I finished that last race was amazing,” he added. “I will never forget today.”

With his Murray Bridge win, Clout has now moved himself to second place overall in the MX2 standings, 13 points behind teammate Styke.
