Chad Reed has taken part in a multi-discipline drive day at the Texan Circuit of the Americas, steering a Holden Commodore ‘Car of the Future’ prototype for a series of hot laps.

The TwoTwo Motorsports team owner/rider joined V8 Supercar drivers James Courtney and Fabian Coulthard, as well as NASCAR driver Kurt Busch, for a series of driver swap activities.

While the V8 drivers and Busch took turns in each other’s cars, it was a chance for Reed to cut some more laps in a V8 Supercar.

“Had a blast today driving,” tweeted Reed. “Now off to Cali for my real job.”

It was a case of ‘back to business’ for Reed, who has considerable experience behind the wheel of a V8 Supercar after private tests in Australia.

He managed the task with ease, while the other drivers took some time to get their heads around the nuances of their new machines.

Reed’s focus will now switch to the weekend’s Salt Lake City round of Monster Energy Supercross, where he will be eager to bounce back and record a solid finish after being taken out of contention in a turn one pileup last weekend.
