TwoTwo Motorsports’ Chad Reed, a devout four-wheel follower and enthusiast, will get the opportunity to drive a V8 Supercar around the Circuit of the Americas in Texas later today.

The decorated Supercross and Motocross champion is no stranger to the cabin of a V8 Supercar, having tested a championship-winning race car from the Triple Eight Race Engineering stable in the past.

Reed has made little secret of his desire to race a car in the future, and says he is excited to get some more experience aboard the new generation of touring car.

“I am really excited to be given the opportunity to drive a V8 Supercar at the Circuit of the Americas. I am huge fan of V8 Supercars and it is exciting that the series is making its debut here in the USA,” Reed said.

“The last time I drove a V8 Supercar it was with the old H pattern gearbox so I am looking forward to driving the Holden car of the future prototype.”

The activity will see Reed cut a series of laps in the VF Commodore prototype Car of the Future alongside NASCAR champion Kurt Busch. V8 Supercar drivers James Courtney and Fabian Coulthard will lend advice, and their 650 horsepower race cars, for the activity.

Reed was on hand as a spectator at the weekend’s Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas and gets behind the wheel to promote the upcoming V8 Supercars Austin 400 event from 17-19 May.
