Defending Australian Off-Road Champion Toby Price has been hospitalised following a serious crash during the AMA National Hare and Hound round in Lucerne Valley, California.

Initial reports direct from Price indicate he has broken three bones in his neck as well as breaking his left thumb.

Price posted the following update on Facebook this afternoon, confirming his injuries.

“Ended up in hospital and broke three bones in my neck and my left thumb,” he wrote. “Very lucky I have full movement because I should be done from the neck down – they are blown away I’m still moving.

Price will undergo surgery in the morning for additional pinning and plating. He has been placed in a halo brace as a precaution.
