The 2013 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) made its way to Goomburra, near Warwick in Queensland, for rounds three and four of the series where Motorex KTM Off-Road Racing’s Toby Price continued to dominate the field.

During Saturday’s round three of the series, Price took out the E3 division top honours with Yamaha’s Stefan Granquist and AJ Roberts earning second and third, respectively.

In the E1 class it was Price’s Motorex KTM Off-Road Racing teammate Chris Hollis who took out the win ahead of CDR Yamaha Off-Road’s Stefan Marriman and Husqvarna’s Lachlan Stanford.

Taking the victory in the E1 division was Active8 Yamaha Yamahalube Racing’s Daniel Milner. Milner took the win ahead of Husqvarna’s Glenn kearney and fellow Active8 Yamaha teammate Tom McCormack.

In the Outright standings it was Price who reigned supreme, sweeping both classes and taking the round three win over teammate Hollis and Yamaha’s Milner.

Sunday saw round four of the AORC series kick off in Goomburra with Price once again scoring the E3 class win ahead of Granquist and Roberts – a carbon copy of Saturday’s results.

Hollis again took the E2 class honours during Sunday’s event, fending off advances from the Husqvarna duo consisting of Matt Phillips and Stanford.

Kearney earned himself the round four E1 win, swapping places with Milner who earned himself a solid second place position with McCormack rounding out the top three.

Price again found himself atop of the Outright leader board at round four, followed by teammate Hollis and Tasmania’s Phillips to round out the top three.

Following his dominating performance, Price admits that the event ranks as one of the best he has attended and beleives his KTM500EXC gave him a great advantage throughout the Goomburra course.

“That was the best result for the team, myself and Chris [Hollis],” said Price. “It was an awesome track marked out well and it was fun – in fact I’d say definitely one of my top two or three AORC rounds I’ve ever ridden.

“For me I thought the 500EXC gave me an advantage on the hilly parts of the track where she just tractors right on up, but also on the grass track it handled really well showed its good power delivery. It works well in any conditions and all it comes down to is how much I hold the throttle on.

“We’ve still got a long way to go with the championship – we’re not even half way yet so it’s good to get a buffer in case something goes badly or I’m not 100 percent fit or healthy for some reason.”

The 2013 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championships will now makes its way to Corner Inlet in Victoria for rounds five and six of the 12 round series on 25-26 May.
