Following a very successful launch at Coolum’s Monster Energy MX Nationals final round in 2012, KTM and Williams Event Management (WEM) have announced the return of the KTM 2-Stroke Cup for four rounds of the championship series.

WEM’s Kevin Williams explained that the addition of the two-stroke class caused a real buzz, signalling a definite return of the unqiue races for 2013.

“There was lots of people taking about the class,” said Williams. “It was like playing an old style band at the races, for many including myself it was motocross music to my ears and we had a great variety of riders participate.”

KTM Australian general manager Jeff Leisk is also a big fan of the two-stroke return for the MXN series.

“It was great to see a full grid of riders enjoying their motocross,” Leisk said. “There were guys on five-year-old bikes and guys on new bikes, we feel that everybody should have an opportunity to compete next to our factory teams and that was the idea for the KTM Cup.

“We are committed to working with WEM to see more riders participate in this great sport and having the KTM 2-Stroke Cup at four rounds is great.”

Riders who are planning on entering one or more rounds should lodge the entries now, this will ensure your name and sponsors names are in the year book.
