Geoff Braico has made an impressive return to the Australian Off-Road Championships (AORC), scoring solid results including a second place E3 class finish for Husaberg at Bulahdelah’s round one of the series.

After spending the past year competing in America, Braico was unsure where he would stand back on home soil. But with solid results right off the bat, Braico looks to be in a good position to be a serious title contender.

“After spending last year in the USA, I had no idea where my level was,” said Braico. “But I’ve been training pretty hard and I like the 501 a lot for its racier and quite light feel.

“In the XC I plugged away after a bad start and finished second in E3 and fifth overall which I was super stoked and surprised about. A fantastic first day on the team.

“Sunday started well but I started to use some new lines around bog holes and there were rocks and stumps and I crashed three times, and then had a damaged rear brake to finish 11th for the day and fifth outright after two days.”

Braico enjoys riding the big bore bike and believes that his 501 Husaberg is a superior bike in his category.

“It’s been a great start to the season as we try to build the new Husaberg team,” he added. “I like riding big bores and I’m sure the new 501 and the KTM are the superior bikes in the category.

“I can’t say enough about the way the guys at Husaberg Australia have worked to put this new team together, we’re all pretty pumped.”
