Yamaha has officially launched its teams that will campaign Australian national championships in 2013.

Held on the eve of the 2013 MX Nationals series launch, Yamaha introduced its teams in an event at the Raymond Terrace Ten Pin Bowling lanes.

“We have organised the launch as a way to introduce our riders and teams to the national media ahead of the racing season,” explained Yamaha’s Scott Bishop.

“It’s a low-key event, a bit of fun for everybody and a good opportunity as we prepare for the Australian motocross launch tomorrow.”

Although previously announced via press releases, CDR Yamaha made its first official outing as Yamaha’s factory off-road team alongside its existing motocross and supercross operation.

The CDR Yamaha MX1 motocross team saw Lawson Bopping and former GP winner Billy Mackenzie revealed together for the first time, along with their CDR-prepared YZ450Fs.

CDR’s off-road team had former world champion Stefan Merriman on hand with his WR450F that he’ll ride in E2 this season, plus defending A4DE champion Daniel Milner and his YZ250F.

The Serco Yamaha MX2/Lites class motocross team unveiled a new-look for its 2013 model YZ250Fs, which will be campaigned by Luke Styke and rookie Luke Clout this year.

GYTR Yamaha featured MXD rookie Joel Dinsdale at the launch, while teammate Jay Wilson is currently focusing on the New Zealand nationals with the JCR Yamaha team.

Team Active8 Yamalube Yamaha had team manager AJ Roberts on hand with fellow riders Josh Green and Tom McCormack.
