Andrew Short will officially join the BTO Sports KTM race team for the remainder of the 2013 Monster Energy Supercross series and the complete Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship.

Short started off the 2013 season with the L&Mc Chaparral Honda team aboard a CRF450R, before funding issues forced the team which was headed up by Jeremy McGrath and Larry Brookes, to close the doors on their operation.

In the meantime, Short has been running a privateer effort aboard a Honda CRF450R purchased from the dealership with bolt on parts from sponsors.

Team owner Vince Arimitsu is excited to add Short to the team and believes this new addition will bring their entire team to another level.

“I’m very excited to have Andrew Short on board and riding for our team,” said Arimitsu. “This brings the BTO Sports KTM team to another level with two solid riders in the top 10.”

Although he has spent a large amount of time aboard Honda’s in the 450 class, Short previously rode for the Austrian manufacturer in 2011, aboard the Red Bull KTM backed 350 SX-F.

Short will begin racing with the BTO Sports KTM team next week at the Atlanta Supercross, riding the KTM 450SX-F alongside teammate Matt Georke in the premier 450SX class.
