Motorex KTM’s Todd Waters currently gaining vital experience while competing in the New Zealand Motocross Championships, looking to come into the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals series firing on all cylinders.

Waters and all-new team made the trip over to New Zealand to contest the four round series, in which a handful of Australia’s top contenders are battling it out with the native Kiwi talents.

Acknowledging the speed of the Kiwi riders on their home soil, Waters believes these races are very beneficial for himself and the team leading into the Australian motocross season.

“The guys are super fast over here on their own tracks so to race with them at this time of the year is really good for us,” said Waters. “The team is pulling together really well and it’s good to sort things out before going into the motocross nationals.”

After suffering a mechanical issue, Waters was forced to DNF a moto at Timaru’s round one of the series. But the Queenslander redeemed himself in the final moto, scoring a convincing win.

“I’m currently sitting fifth with a DNF which is pretty good, and I hope to get more wins,” he added. “The tracks are awesome and great experience for me since I’m aiming for Europe.”

Waters, his teammate Kirk Gibbs and the Motorex KTM crew will debut their all-new factory outfit in Australia at round one of the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals series on 14 April at Raymond Terrace.
