Monster Energy MX Nationals MX2 pre-season championship favourite Luke Styke is currently making all of the preparations necessary to give himself the best chance possible at taking home the crown for Serco Yamaha.

After barely losing last year’s MX2 title to Ford Dale at Coolum’s season finale, Styke enters the 2013 season with added motivation and carries valuable Motocross of Nations experience after representing Australia in the sands of Lommel.

While running third during the 2012 Terex Australian Supercross Championships Styke suffered a broken wrist, leaving him sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Now returning to his usual routine and fully recovered, Styke says he will be working hard to improve on last year’s results.

“When I got my injury, I had it fixed right away and then took some time off as I felt I needed a break,” said Styke. “But I’m now back up and into my training and riding and working hard to improve on my 2012 season.”

Styke explained that having a supportive team has enabled him to concentrate on the task at hand – being fit and fast when round one of the outdoor series arrives in April.

“My wrist is coming along nicely and being back with a great team like Serco allows me to concentrate on my job with the priority being fit and fast for round one,” he added.

Styke will be teamed with rookie wonder Luke Clout at Serco Yamaha during the 2013 season aboard the YZ250F.
