Jon Park will join the soon to be announced BCP Elite Training Squad.

The soon to be announced BCP Elite Training Squad has secured the services of Melbourne based sports physiotherapist Jon Park.

Park is part owner and operator of the Peninsula Sports Medicine Group in Melbourne’s South East Suburbs and also an integral part of the Race-Safe Medical Crew on hand at national outdoor and supercross events Australia-wide.

The new BCP Elite Training Squad will be working on a wide range of on and off-bike training and testing during the year, where a well versed sports pshysiotherapist will be needed for a number of factors including pre and post event muscle recovery, injury prevention, injury maintenance and rehabilitation.

Director of the BCP Elite Squad, Lee Hogan, is excited about the launch of the new squad and the appointment of Jon Park as Sports Physiotherapist.

“It was a pleasant surprise when Jon contacted me regarding the new Squad, as he is the person I was hoping to secure for the position all along,” said Hogan.

“For us it is such a great coup to have not only a well known and respected physiotherapist on board with our Squad but one that clearly has an interest, passion and knowledge in our sport of motocross/supercross.”

Park not only understands the physiology of the human body, but how it all works regarding the sport of motocross through his experience in the Race-Safe Crew and also having treated some of Australia’s top motocross and freestyle athletes in Cameron Sinclair, Cheyne Boyd and Geran Stapleton at his practice in Langwarrin, Victoria.

“I really admire what Lee is doing here which really is unchartered waters in this particular sport,” said Park. For a while now I have looked in as an outsider at a sport with so much potential but one that is a little bit primitive in the sports/science, training and rehab department.”

“I’m looking forward to working along-side Lee with an amazing group of athletes that we have on board for 2013 and seeing where this journey takes us all.

“Hopefully this will pave the way for more of the same in the near future. The sport of motocross/supercross has such potential and this will certainly add a new element of professionalism.”

Final details on the BCP Elite Training Squad will be announced in early December including the full list of riders/athletes on board plus support from a well known fitness/nutrition company.
