JDR/KTM Factory Racing’s Ryan Marmont put it all together at Phillip Island’s second round of the Terex Australian Supercross Championships to land himself on the SX Lites podium for the first time in 2012.

Marmont used solid starts and smart riding throughout the day to put himself in a good position for the all important main event.

On a tight Phillip Island circuit, the Wollongong native was able to put in 15 solid laps to land himself on the podium, improving on his fifth place season opening finish in Dubbo.

“It was a tight track, so starts were the key, as well as doing all the little things right,” Marmont reflected. “I was able to put it all together throughout the day and made it count in the main event.”

Marmont says he is happy with his performance and notes that he gained considerable championship points.

“I was really happy with how I rode, to finish on the podium is a good feeling and we got good points for the championship,” he added.

Marmont now sits third overall in the SX Lites championship standings after two of four rounds in the 2012 Terex Australian Supercross Championship.
