The Australian Motorcycle Awards will bring together road and dirt bike racing communities and the wider industry to celebrate top achievers of 2012 at a gala celebration at Melbourne’s Crown Casino in November.

Australian Supercross Championship and Australian Superbike Championship titles will be presented and a range of industry identities recognised in the ceremony to be held on the evening of Friday, 23 November, at the Crown Palladium function rooms.

The event co-incides with the opening day of the Australian Motorcycle Expo in Melbourne and is a joint venture between exhibition organiser Exhibitions and Trade Fairs (ETF) and supercross and superbike promoter International Entertainment Group (IEG).

ETF event manager Robby Clark said it was an opportune time to celebrate the crowning of the 2012 champions.

“The industry dedicates considerable resources to the Australian Motorcycle Expo and this is the perfect time to gather together two of the premier motorcycle racing disciplines,” said Clark.

“It will be a unique occasion and a fantastic opportunity to celebrate new champions as one community.”

IEG managing director Yarrive Konsky said the function would be a fitting way to recognise the top achievers.

“We are working hand-in-hand with the Australian Motorcycle Expo to put on the biggest event of its kind,” he said. “Rarely are we able to bring together so many members of the motorcycle sport community and industry in general.

“The evening will be a memorable one and we hope to establish this event as a highlight on the annual calendar.”

The evening will include a three course dinner, formal presentations, special guest speakers, a performance by comedian Ben Price and a live band. A limited number of tickets will be available for the general public to attend.
