Fan Guide: 2012 Australian Supercross Rd2 Phillip Island

MotoOnline.com.au has the ultimate guide to Phillip Island's second round of the ASX series.

The 2012 Terex Australian Supercross Championships is set to hit Phillip Island this weekend in conjunction with the MotoGP event for round two of the series.

Jay Marmont leads the SX Open class into this weekend’s event after taking out Dubbo’s round one victory on his Monster Energy Kawasaki entry.

CDR Yamaha’s Dan McCoy sits in second position after a strong start to the series, while Jake Moss sits in third place on his Campbell Mining/Troy Lee Designs/Maxima Racing Honda.

TwoTwo Motorsports’ Chad Reed will be an exciting addition to the premier SX Open class this weekend, the multi-time AMA supercross champion will be debuting the 2013 Honda CRF450R on Australian soil and will be sure to stir up the competition.

American import Gavin Faith leads the SX Lites class heading into round two, the Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing rider has made it clear that he wants the number one plate in 2012.

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Kade Mosig sits in the runner-up position after round one with Serco Yamaha/Metal Mulisha Racing’s Luke Styke rounding out the top three.

In the Under 19s division Honda mounted Hayden Mellross leads the charge, closely followed by Kale Makeham in second on his KTM 250 SX two-stroke and Raceline Pirelli Suzuki’s Jay Wilson in third.
