Motorex KTM Off Road Racing has confirmed that defending Australian Four-Day Enduro (A4DE) Champion Toby Price will compete this week at Warragul in Victoria.

Price suffered a painful rib injury at this month’s International Six-Day Enduro (ISDE) in Germany, but a successful return to the bike on Sunday has locked in his participation for the 2012 A4DE.

One of the most prestigious enduro events in the world, Motorex KTM Off Road Racing will feature Price aboard the 500 EXC, as he looks to cap off a memorable season that has so far seen him win the Australian Off-Road Championships, Finke Desert Race, Hattah Desert Race and podium in the E3 category of the ISDE.

“The main goal now is the A4DE, which we’re really looking forward to,” Price commented. “Hopefully we can get a good result there, it’s a very important race on the schedule for us and it’s an event that I really enjoy as a rider.

“The plan is to climb on top of the podium and cap off what has been a great year. Riding for me has been limited lately after my rib injuries at the ISDE, but we’ll see how it goes!”

Price will be joined in the A4DE by regular AORC teammate and E1 class contender Ben Burrell on a 2013 model 250 SX-F, while desert icon Ben Grabham will make his anticipated national return from injury aboard the team’s 350 EXC-F for the A4DE.

E2 class regular Chris Hollis has been sidelined as he recovers from injuries sustained at the ISDE earlier this month.

Team manager Brad Williscroft is excited for this year’s A4DE, confident that the combination of Price, Burrell and Grabham will be formidable across the four days of the 2012 running.

“Sunday was the first time that Toby has been able to ride since the ISDE with his ribs, but he pulled up okay and is confident that he’ll be able to battle through the four-day,” Willscroft explained. “I’m sure that he will be battling for the win, even though he is still in a lot of pain.

“Burrell has been riding a lot since Germany and he’s on the 2013 model 250 SX-F. He’s really enjoying that bike and will be pushing hard for the E1 class win throughout the week.

“It’s also great to have Grabbo back, it will be his first real race since his injuries, and he’s been preparing well. He has an open mind and will be looking to get through the four days.

“The riders are all very excited though, they’ve been walking the special tests and they look really good for this year’s event. Everything is shaping up well for a good four days down here.”

The event will officially commence today, with a Prologue scheduled for this afternoon that will decide the all-important starting order of tomorrow’s day one proceedings.
