The 2012 Australian Women’s Motocross Championship wrapped up this weekend at the Albury Wodonga Motorcycle Club.

Meghan Rutledge, 2011 Australian Women’s Motocross title holder, was able to successfully defend her crown aboard her Kawasaki.

Recent AMA Motocross and FIM Motocross World Championship contender, Rutledge, swept each and every moto convincingly throughout the event.

“I had an all round awesome weekend and it all went according to plan,” said Rutledge. My KX250F was fast and reliable as always and it’s great to win the title for the second year in a row. Thanks to everybody who supports me, especially my mum and dad.

“2012 has been such a great year for me so far. I hope I can get a top ten finish in the Australian Supercross Championship this year and finish the year on a strong note.”

Taking home the runner-up position was Mackenzie Tricker, the Yamaha mounted rider kept Rutledge honest throughout the event with solid second place finishes in each moto.

Third overall and rounding out the podium was Kristy Gillespie who used consistent results to claim her spot on the box.

Fourth overall was Tayla Jones while Jessica Moore took the final spot inside the top five for the 2012 Australian Women’s Motocross championship.
