The Monster Energy Triple Challenge is an all-new new feature for the 2012 Australian Supercross Championships.

The Terex Australian Supercross Championships and Monster Energy have joined forces to bring the Monster Energy Triple Challenge to the stage during the all-new series in 2012.

The Monster Energy Triple Challenge will add a unique and challenging incentive to the Terex Australian Supercross Championships across three different criteria.

Pro Open and Pro Lites riders who qualify first, win their heat and win their Main Event final will earn an extra $1000. Any Pro Open or Pro Lites rider who wins three of four rounds will earn an additional $5000, and any Pro Open or Pro Lites rider who claims three of four holeshots in their Main Event final will win $2000.

Monster Energy could payout a whopping $20,000 in prize-money across the board for riders who can achieve these feats. It has also stepped up to support the star-studded freestyle shows which have expanded to feature world-renowned riders.

Double-backflip daredevils Cameron Sinclair (X Games Gold) and Josh Sheehan (X Games bronze, X-Fighters winner), front-flip pioneer Jackson Strong (X Games dual gold), inventor of the ‘Carry On’ Mark Monea, touring legend and FMX OG Matt Schubring and female sensation Emma McFerran fill a packed bill on what will be known as the Monster Energy Night of Jumps.

David Ellis, Events and Athlete Manager of Monster Energy Australia and New Zealand said Supercross was an integral part of the brand’s core and could see the sport taking the necessary steps forward with the International Entertainment Group.

“We have always been behind Supercross and we believe in IEG’s direction,” said Ellis. They are taking Supercross and its world-class racers and teams to regions that are starved of premium action sports entertainment at a price that is affordable.

“This will be an incredible series of events and will be accessible to all with prices for kids starting at just $12.50.”

Yarrive Konsky, Managing Director of IEG, was thrilled to welcome Monster Energy to the new Australian Supercross Championships.

“Monster Energy is as much a part of Supercross as dirt is,” said Konsky. They have played such a big role in growing the sport on an international level and having their support behind the Australian Supercross Championships ensures even greater success and growth for our sport in Australia.”

Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jay Marmont and Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Gavin Faith took out the season opening Pro Open and Pro Lites wins respectively. Moving on from Dubbo, the series now heads to Phillip Island for round two on 27 October.
