Jay Marmont and Monster Energy Kawasaki have joined forces with Komatsu Australia.

Monster Energy Kawasaki has confirmed that Komatsu Australia has joined the team as a sponsor ahead of the 2012 Australian Supercross Championships.

In the sport of motocross where the need to shift large amounts of dirt is a frequent occurrence, the addition of a respected brand like Komatsu to the Monster Energy Kawasaki team has been a welcome one.

Defending supercross champion and four-time outdoor champion Jay Marmont recently took advantage of the new agreement to construct what are arguably the best supercross/motocross tracks in the country.

“The best Australian tracks involve about 3000 tonnes of dirt,” Marmont explained. “For this track, thanks to help from Komatsu and their 40 tonne D155A dozer, Ryan [Marmont] and I shifted about 6000 tonnes of dirt.

“So we’ve been able to build some great jumps and courses that will really test us, and really give us an edge over the competition.”

Komatsu built its first crawler tractor more than 65 years ago and has since developed the world’s most extensive range of earthmoving, mining, construction and utility equipment.

Komatsu Australia today offers a full product line up with quality parts and reliable service to meet all their customers’ needs in the earthmoving industries. Komatsu has also been a long term supporter of motocross and supercross.

“We’re extremely pleased to have Komatsu Australia come on board as a sponsor,” said team manager Troy Carroll. “Their products are world class and proven making them a great fit for Monster Energy Kawasaki.

“Komatsu machinery will very shortly begin work on the new Monster Energy Kawasaki training compound in QLD. Having Komatsu on board will assist our team in becoming faster and stronger.”

Todd Connolly, head of marketing and corporate planning at Komatsu Australia, is excited to be a part of the factory Kawasaki operation.

“Komatsu is proud to be associated with the Monster Energy Kawasaki team and we’re looking forward to the season ahead to see Jay Marmont on the top step of the podium,” he said.

Monster Energy Kawasaki riders Marmont, Billy Mackenzie and Kade Mosig will line up with their Kawasaki KX motorcycles adorned with fresh Komatsu decals at the opening round of the 2012 ASX Championship in Dubbo, NSW, this Saturday, 13 October.
