Kawasaki rider Jesse Dobson was crowned the Australian Junior Motocross Champion in the 200-250cc 15 years class at Coolum last weekend, picking up the 2013 model KX250F’s first national title.

The 15-year-old Queenslander bounced back from injury at the nationals one year ago to claim victory, his win being even more impressive following a full year off.

Dobson started a little tight and got bad starts in the first two motos, fighting through the pack to claim a pair of seconds. He got taken out in the third moto and regathered for fifth, before winning the final two motos.

“I’m stoked with this result after everything that’s happened in the last year,” Dobson commented. :To finally get the Australian championship is awesome and the 2013 KX250F is sick.

“We didn’t have an opportunity to do much testing with it, it only had 20 minutes on it after being rebuilt by Crazy Dogs Kawasaki [Kawasaki dealership in Burpengary, QLD] before being raced at Coolum and it was wicked all weekend. I love the 2013 model.”

Dobson also took sixth overall in the 100-150cc 15-U15 years class onboard his KX125 amongst a field dominated by larger 150cc capacity bikes.
