Toby Price led the Australian charge on day two of the 2012 FIM International Six Day Enduro in Germany, with the NSW star sweeping three of six special test victories.

Despite being hampered by a bent wheel, buckled after a run-in with a stump on the opening day of competition, Price posted the fastest times in Special Tests one, five and six to bump himself up to fifth Outright and cememnt himself as clear second runner in Enduro 3.

Price’s standout performances helped Australia’s Senior Team consolidate their second place ranking in the premier World Trophy Team competition, with the green and gold riders now sitting twelve minutes behind France and nearly seven minutes ahead of nearest rivals Italy.

Price’s teammates Glenn Kearney, Matt Phillips, Josh Strang, Chris Hollis and Daniel Milner all posted strong individual results on their second day on the German track.

Phillips and Strang had a particularly good day, finishing ninth and 11th Outright and fifth and seventh respectively in Enduro 2, while Milner moved up to fifth in Enduro 1. Kearney and Hollis both put in consistent rides, with Kearney moving to 12th in Enduro 1 and Hollis shifting up a place to 13th in Enduro 2.

The Women’s Trophy Team of Jess Gardiner, Tanya Hearn and Tayla Jones continued their great form from day one, maintaining second position behind France and extending their time buffer over third-placed team Germany to eight minutes.

In the individual Women’s class competition, Gardiner strengthened her hold on second place while Hearn and Jones head into day three ranked 10th and 17th respectively.

It was a tougher day on the track for our Australian Junior Trophy Team of Mitcham Harper, Lachlan Stanford, Ben Burrell and Luka Bussa, who posted an impressive third place finish on the opening day of the event.

Suspected mechanical issues forced Burrell out of the race during Special Test 2. The remaining trio of Harper, Bussa and Stanford delivered a valiant effort to hold on to the top five, finishing the day in fourth place behind the leading pack of Great Britain, France and USA.

Bussa now sits 21st in Enduro 1, while Harper and Stanford hold down 21st and 67th in the Enduro 2 competition.

Day 3 of the 2012 FIM International Six Day Enduro gets underway at 7:30am local time (3:30pm AEST) with results streamed live at www.fim-isde.live.info.
