Leg three of the Australasian Safari has been completed, heading through 410km of some of the most impressive competitive stages in the event’s history.

Honda mounted Jake Smith continues to stretch his lead out in the Moto division of the event, now sitting with a comfortable 11-minute lead over second place.

“The first stages were very tough it was hard to navigate and find the way in the sand dunes,” said Smith. “I got lost a bit in the third stage and undid all the good work I did this morning so I’m a bit disappointed but looking now to tomorrow.”

Yamaha Mounted Rod Faggotter sits in the runner-up position, after moving himself ahead of the Honda mounted Warren Strange.

“The bike is great, but I got lost in the second stage,” said Faggotter. “Thankfully I made up time in the last stage and redeemed myself. The beach section was fun riding along the waves.”

Faggotter and Strange are separated by approximately five minutes, sitting comfortably in the final podium positions, before a large gap is seen back to fourth position.
