Former Australian national champion PJ Larsen made his racing return with the JDR/J-Star/KTM team at Steel City’s penultimate round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series last weekend.

Upon return, Larsen raced the premier 450 Class aboard a KTM 350 SX-F in his first race for the Aussie-owned team since recovering from ACL surgery.

Larsen had a poor start in both of his motos but was able to put together consistent lap times and continuously pick up positions throughout the race.

At the end of both motos, Larsen was able to climb up to 14th for a pair of 14-14 finishes. His moto results earned him 15th overall.

“It was definitely hard coming back,” remarked Larsen. “I know I’m not 100 percent yet, but I really wanted to come out and get some racing in before the season is over.

“I had fun today and I hope to improve at the final round in Lake Elsinore next weekend.”

Larsen won the Australian Pro Lites Motocross and Supercross Championships in 2010 for JDR, but has suffered numerous injuries since returning to the US last season.
