JDR/KTM Factory Racing contender Josh Cachia will vie for the MX2 title at this weekend’s final round of the 2012 MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, before travelling direct to the United States for his American Motocross debut.

The talented 20-year-old enters Coolum’s season finale third in the standings after claiming two round wins to date, still in contention for the series with 28 points to make up over three action-filled motos.

Cachia will then fly to California on Monday as he prepares to contest Lake Elsinore’s final round of the American Motocross Championship for the Australian-owned JDR/J-Star/KTM team.

“I’ve always been able to ride Coolum fast and I plan to come out charging,” Cachia commented. “28 points is not impossible, anything is possible, but it’s going to be hard and will come down to the last race. I just hope we can put on a good race for everybody to come and see this weekend.

“I’m thankful for JDR giving me the opportunity to race in America next month. Ever since I signed with the team we’ve always been looking forward and never look back, so they’ve rewarded me with a ride over in the States. I can’t thank them enough.”

Cachia will be joined in the MX2 class this weekend by JDR/KTM teammate Ryan Marmont, who made his return from injury at round nine last weekend. Marmont is himself a former national champion in the category.
