Leaving the sands of Southwick and heading into the grassy hills of Unadilla, Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey leads the premier 450 class field.

Dungey, who finished runner-up in 2011 to Ryan Villopoto, leads MotoConcepts’ Mike Alessi into round 10 of the series.

The 2010 AMA motocross champion holds a commanding lead of 85 points over Alessi, while Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jake Weimer lurks in third position overall.

Dungey is the man in command at this point, and the possibility to wrap this championship up before the season finale in Lake Elsinore is available.

In the ultra competitive 250 Class, the battle between Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Blake Baggett and GEICO Honda’s Justin Barica remains.

Baggett leads Barcia into the event with a slim 11-point lead over his arch-rival. With previous 2011 winner Dean Wilson out injured, the door is wide open for the top spot on the podium.

Barcia, now signed for a 450 ride in 2013, will be going all out in his final bid to take his first outdoor title. Fireworks will fly all the way to the finish between the two front-runners.

The Unadilla round will be underway on 18 August in New Berlin, New York. Stay tuned to MotoOnline.com.au for news and updates from the event.
