Challenge, a not-for-profit organisation supporting children and families living with cancer, is calling on dirt bike riders across Victoria to get on board the 11th annual KTM Ride4Kids event.

Ride4Kids, slated to take place on Sunday 21 October, is Australia’s biggest charity dirt bike event and raises much needed funds for Challenge.

This year, the event is moving to the world-class MX track at the Dandenong Motorcycle Club in Wonthaggi and offers a full day of non-competitive riding where participants can opt to ride in either motocross or extreme enduro events.

Along with the choice of terrain on offer, participants will have the chance to meet some of their professional motocross idols, including Race ambassador and KTM racing champion, Brenden Harrison.

“The emphasis of Ride4Kids is on having fun,” said Harrison. “It’s a fantastic day out for all the family and a good chance for riders to get some practice on a professional track while doing their bit to help kids and families in need.

“All sessions are an open practice format with no actual racing on the day so people of all ages and abilities can get involved.”

Various sessions will take place throughout the day, starting with the 50cc juniors through to the open class of thumping 450 big bores. A new ‘pee wee’ track will also provide a safe introduction for young children learning to ride.

Riders who raise $300 will automatically go into the draw to win a KTM 85SX bike worth $6995. A second KTM 85SX worth $6995 will be awarded to the event’s overall highest fundraiser and additional prizes will also be up for grabs for the top 10 fundraisers.

Participants will need their own bike, helmet and riding gear. Entry to ride is $80 and non-licenced riders will also need to purchase a non-competition licence on the day for $20.

Gates open at 7.30am the event will span from 9am to 5pm. The event is located at Dandenong Motorcycle Club, 220 West Area Rd at Wonthaggi in Victoria.
