JDR to form American-based amateur team for 2013

JDR Motorsports have announced that they will be taking a new direction for 2013, starting up their very own amateur motocross squad.

JDR Motorsports are planning to make their presence known in the American amateur scene for 2013.

JDR Motorsports have announced that they will be taking a new direction for 2013, starting up their very own amateur motocross squad.

Already an established entity in the American professional ranks, the Australian owned JDR crew will expand into the highly competitive amateur scene.

A plan to bring up and coming stars through their amateur program and groom them as they head into the professional ranks looks to be JDR’s goal with this new venture.

“We’re trying to really put the pieces together with our amateur program,” said JDR/J-Star/KTM team manager Nathan Ramsey. “We’ve been in pretty heavy discussion about with Mike Sleeter from KTM and the whole Orange Brigade.

“We’re super excited to be adding this to our complete program with JDR, and it’s going to put us into a position to where we can build this thing and have a great future for the team.”

With KTM’s already strong presence in the amatuer scene, Team owner Jay Rynenberg is confident that this new move will work well for the team.

“The good thing with KTM is they already have the Orange Brigade setup,” said Rynenberg. “They own the 65s and 85s, they just kill it in the amateur scene right now.

“So we’re just kind of adding onto an existing program, it’s just such a great parallel for us and it’s going to work great.”

The team has already signed rising star Chase Bell to a multi-year deal, racing all of the major amateur nationals in America.

JDR Motorsports will continue to field their professional team in the AMA supercross and motocross championships for 2013.
