Rider applications open for 2012 Australian MXoN team

Motorcycling Australia has announced that they are now calling for rider applications to be part of the Australian team which will be sent to Lommel in Belgium for the 2012 Motocross of Nations.

Motorcycling Australia have announced that selections are now open for a chance to fly the green and gold in Belgium this year.

Motorcycling Australia has announced that they are now calling for rider applications to be part of the Australian team which will be sent to Lommel in Belgium for the 2012 Motocross of Nations.

Three team spots are available for riders to apply, a single position in each of the MX1, MX2 and Open divisions is available.

The MX2 class maximum rider age is limited to 23-years-old, riders born between 1 January 1989 and 28 September 1997 are eligible for selection.

The Australian team will once again be led by team manger Gary Benn, travelling time altogether will be roughly eight days, with the race taking place on 30 September. Travel dates are yet to be confirmed.

In 2011 team Australia, which consisted of Chad Reed, Matt Moss and Brett Metcalfe, took out third overall in the Motocross of Nations event, making history as Australia’s best-ever MXoN result.

All applicants must be aware of the rules and regulations of the event which may vary from National and other International events.

Application Forms can be downloaded from www.ma.org.au/forms and must be returned by COB Wednesday 15 August 2012.
