Ryan Dungey has confirmed he will be on the starting line to take his shot at the ‘Monster Million’ come 20 October, as the 2012 Monster Energy Cup gets underway for the second consecutive year.

In 2011 Dungey made the last minute decision to debut his all-new Red Bull KTM outfit at the inaugural running of the event. For 2012 the former AMA Supercross and motocross champion will arrive race ready and completely in-tune with his new team.

Dungey left Las Vegas’ Sam Boyd Stadium last year with a second overall, taking 3-2-2 finishes in the three moto format, Ryan Villopoto was able to string together three moto wins for the overall and the coveted million dollar pay cheque.

“Coming into last year’s Monster Energy Cup, I was really excited about it,” said Dungey. “It was a quick decision we made – kind of last minute – but it was something different. The format was a little different and you had a million dollars up for grabs. The first year of the competition was a success.”

The 2012 Monster Energy Cup features an all-new track design inspired by five-time Supercross Class Champion Ricky Carmichael.

The Carmichael-inspired track design will consist of supercross and motocross obstacles unlike any other racetrack design in the world.

The Monster Energy Cup will again post a $250,000 purse with the winner walking away with a $100,000 check, and any rider that wins all three main events will take home the $1 million.
