One of Australia’s most decorated Freestyle Motocross athletes Cam Sinclair will attempt to finish on the X Games podium for the third year in succession this Friday night, in Los Angeles’ Staples Center.

Competing in the X Games Moto X Best Trick event, Sinclair won gold in 2010 after landing a double back-flip, following an incredible return to the sport just 12 months after suffering critical injuries at a competition in Madrid, Spain.

A year later, Sinclair once again amazed the world by this time landing a Nac Double Flip. This was the first time ever, that any sort of combination had been included with what is arguably the most dangerous trick in action sports. The result was a second place finish.

This Friday, Sinclair will attempt to win his third X Games medal in as many attempts – a feat no Australian has achieved in the ‘Best Trick’ event previously.

For Sinclair, the accolades are a minor focus, with his sole concentration dedicated to landing his trick and coming home safely to his wife Brooke and unborn baby.

“I have been working on a few different combinations to the double flip for this year’s X Games,” Sinclair said. “The double in itself is difficult enough, so I’ll see on the night how I’m feeling, to which way I’ll go with it.

“All I can worry about is landing my trick and the judges will take care of the rest.”

Performing such a dangerous trick and knowing full well the risks associated, a more mature Sinclair says he will definitely have his young family on his mind this Friday in LA.

“Having a baby on the way, definitely makes me think a little more about what I do,” he added. “This is my job though, so I’ll be doing my best to bring home another X Games medal, then focus on being a dad again next week!”

Moto X Best Trick commences this Friday, 29 June, at 8:15pm PST (Saturday, 30 June, 1:15pm AEST) and will be telecast live around the globe on ESPN.
