Ferris to undergo further shoulder scans in Belgium this week

Suffering a frustrating setback in his 2012 FIM World Motocross campaign, Australia's Dean Ferris will undergo further shoulder scans in Belgium this week after dislocating his shoulder in a crash at St Jean d'Angely in France last weekend.

Dean Ferris will be hoping for good news after he undergoes further scans in Belgium this week.

Suffering a frustrating setback in his 2012 FIM World Motocross campaign, ICE1RACING’S Dean Ferris will undergo further shoulder scans in Belgium this week after dislocating his shoulder at St Jean d’Angely in France.

After qualifying in a solid 11th place for the French Grand Prix, Ferris’ day went downhill. Crashing in moto one and then sustaining a dislocated shoulder after being hit from behind in the first turn.

Trackside medical staff worked for twenty minutes to manipulate the dislocated shoulder back into place.

“I was really looking forward to this race,” said Ferris. “I watched here as a spectator two years ago and now I was finally able to mix it up with the guys.

“We were lucky to get the shoulder back into place quite quickly with the great assistance of the doctors and medics. I will have another check up back in Belgium this week with my specialists and then we can make a decision on when I can get back on the bike.

“It’s really frustrating because my speed has been improving with every race and I have been battling with guys that have won GP’s. Hopefully this is only a minor setback and I can be back behind the gate in no time.”

Ferris currently sits 18th overall in the MX1 standings after six of 16 rounds. Stay tuned to MotoOnline.com.au for more updates on Ferris’ injury status.
