Ryan Dungey has given KTM their first ever 450 Class national win, taking 1-1 finishes at round three of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship in Colorado.

Dungey had been fast throughout the first two rounds, where he shadowed James Stewart for second overall on both occasions. But in Colorado Stewart made a mistake and Dungey capatalized.

The 2010 AMA motocross champion is excited to reach another milestone for KTM after earning the Austrian brand its first ever 450 Class supercross victory at Phoenix earlier this year.

“I’m really happy to give Red Bull KTM its first overall 450 motocross win in the US. It’s great to be a part of something that’s full of firsts,” said Dungey.

“Everyone on the team works really hard and we receive tons of support from KTM worldwide. We are heading to High Point Raceway next week. I’ve always liked that track and I’m looking forward to another good race.”

Dungey now leads the 450 Class by 35 points over Jake Weimer, after James Stewart was forced to sit out the remainder of the day, scoring DNF-DNS in the motos.
