The pair of 15-minute back-to-back motos have proven the toughest aspect of the Monster Energy MX Nationals for dual British champion Brad Anderson to adjust to in 2012.

Anderson has been accustomed to a trio of 20-minute races in the UK and has so far enjoyed the 30-minute moto that makes up moto three at MXN rounds, however the opening two motos have proven more of a challenge.

The Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing contender did manage to win the first moto on his way to the overall at Wonthaggi, while last time out at Murray Bridge it was Anderson who won the final moto in a convincing performance.

“I felt really good in that last race, because I like the 30-minute motos,” Anderson explained. “The two back-to-back motos are a bit hard for me cos I’m still adjusting to them at the moment.

“It’s hard because you’re adrenaline’s kicking, you obviously come back in for fiev or 10 minutes, cool down, and then you’re back on again.

“In England we do three 20-minute motos, but with breaks in between. It’s definitely a lot different to get used to, but we’ll get there in the end.”

Anderson’s been openly struggling with arm-pump during the first half of the season, now focused on fixing that problem during the mid-season layoff.

“In the first two races I’m still struggling with arm pump,” Anderson said. “Now we have time off I’m going to do a lot more testing, try to get ride of the arm-pump.

“I showed I could do it in the last race, so if I could do that in every race I’d be looking good at the moment.”

Anderson currently sits third in the point-standings, 27 points in arrears of early leader Josh Coppins.
