Australia’s Dean Ferris has scored a victory at the Finnish Supercross on his ICE1RACING Kawasaki in sandy conditions at Hyvinkaa in Finland.

Ferris used a small break in the World Motocross series to compete in the event. He also attended an earlier round of the series in Helsinki earlier this year.

After a slower and more challenging start than expected to his GP campaign due to an elbow injury, Ferris admits he enjoyed racing in Finland without any pressure on him.

“It’s fun to ride without any pressure and have a bit of a break from GPs,” Ferris said. “The weather is so much nicer than last time, and it’s great to be able to see both sides of Finland.”

After improving race by race, Ferris is looking forward to the rest of the GP season.

“The start of the season was challenging, since I was hoping for so much and in order to achieve my goals I had to start patiently,” said Ferris. “Race by race we have gotten better and I’m looking forward to the GP starts of the rest of the season.”

The FIM Motocross World Championship will return on 3 June in France for round six.
