Williams Event Management and Motorcycling Australia have confirmed that the seventh round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals, Australian Motocross Championship, has been moved from Barrabool to Horsham.

The series will return to Horsham for the first time since the season-opener in 2010, remaining on 15 July in Victoria – the same date and state originally scheduled for Barrabool.

“It is very disappointing this decision had to be made,“ said WEM’s Kevin Williams. “The property is owned by Motorcycling Australia and they currently have some planning applications before the local authorities and they may not be finalised until around the time of the event.

“Under those circumstances it was prudent to change the venue for that round. We would like to thank the Horsham Motorcycle club for providing the venue to ensure the championship series can maintain its 10 rounds scheduled for 2012.”

Currently in its mid-season break, the Australian Motocross Championship will continue at Hervey Bay in Queensland on Sunday, 1 July.
