CDR Yamaha team owner Craig Dack has hailed the performance of Josh Coppins and Lawson Bopping after the pair went 1-2 at Wanneroo in Western Australia on Sunday.

Coppins claimed his second Monster Energy MX Nationals round win of the season in a benchmark day for the CDR squad, with Bopping putting forward a consistent effort to back-up his elder teammate on the MX1 podium.

The victory is a special one for Dack, a testament to his team and riders’ early form. In a relentless track that only the toughest rise, the former multiple Mr. Motocross winner was proud on Sunday afternoon.

“I have been coming to WA for 30 years now and it is a great place to race,” Dack explained. “The track, the spectators and the atmosphere are all unbelievable and it forces the cream to ride to the top.

“This is a huge highlight for me at CDR to have our riders’ finish 1-2 in the toughest event of the season.”

While Dack and the entire CDR outfit will take a lot away from their performance at Wanneroo, he’s certain that the team needs to remain focused after a strong start to the 2012 season.

“It was a fantastic day and an awesome performance but as I spoke with them after the race, it’s not even half way through the championship and we can’t afford to take our eyes off the prize,” he added.

“We must remain focused and continue to work hard.”

There is only a one week turn around before the CDR Yamaha team face the start gates again next weekend in Murray Bridge, South Australia.
