Current MX2 Australian Motocross Championship leader Luke Styke is certain that he’ll be able to keep momentum on his side when the Monster Energy MX Nationals reach Wanneroo in Western Australia this weekend.

The Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racing rider has been exceptionally consistent in 2012 to stretch out a 13-point lead in the series, finishing on the podium at all three rounds contested to date.

Styke has a strong history at Wanneroo, which bodes well for a good result come Sunday, winning the Under 19s round at the sand-stacked venue on his way to that title in 2009.

“I really enjoy riding the sand and have a few practice tracks around my area that are similar to what we will face in WA,” Styke explained.

“I have done well there before, I know the track well and have put in plenty of work since the last round.

“So I look forward to another good showing and to keep my consistency rolling.”

So far this season, Styke finished third at Conondale’s season opener, first at round two with a clean-sweep of Coonabarabran and second at Wonthaggi a fortnight ago.
