Fan Guide: 2012 MX Nationals Rd4 Wanneroo

MotoOnline.com.au has the ultimate guide to Wanneroo's round four of the 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals.

The 2012 Monster Energy MX Nationals series heads to Western Australia’s Wanneroo MX Track this weekend for its fourth round of action.

CDR Yamaha’s Josh Coppins holds a 20-point lead in the MX1 class, over Carlton Dry Honda Thor Racing’s Brad Anderson and Raceline Pirelli Suzuki’s Todd Waters.

Watch for round three winner Anderson to be carrying momentum and confidence into Wanneroo, while defending champion Jay Marmont will be shooting for the win as he is now injury free and ready to put his Monster Energy Kawasaki on top.

In the MX2 class Serco Yamaha Metal Mulisha Racing’s Luke Styke carries the red plate into round four, with Wonthaggi winner Ford Dale in second and Styke’s teammate Kirk Gibbs holding down third overall.

Styke has been strong all season, while Dale seems to be making a mid-season charge. Round one winner Gibbs has had to deal with an early season wrist injury, but solid results so far have seen him keep himself in the title chase and he should improve throughout the series.

Dylan Long holds down the MXD overall lead after a rough round three, finishing fifth overall. Kiwi rider Kayne Lamont had a breakthrough ride at Wonthaggi, taking the win and bumping himself into fourth overall. Keep an eye on the Sam Martin and Dylan Leary battle, as they sit tied on 157 points behind series leader Long.

MotoOnline.com.au will compile an official pre-race Fan Guide ahead of every round in 2012.
