It’s official, JGRMX and James Stewart have mutually agreed to part ways and terminate their contract together.

After a rough Monster Energy Supercross season with a bunch of crashes and bad results, rumours and speculation around the split began to surface.

The exact reason for the split is unknown, but many speculate that Stewart and JGRMX were unable to find that perfect set-up on the Yamaha YZ450F that would allow the former champion to be comfortable and confident.

Sources in the U.S. predict that Stewart will soon be confirmed alongside Australia’s Brett Metcalfe on a Yoshimura Suzuki, with a strong possibility of seeing the number seven back for the outdoor nationals in 2012.

Stewart had tested the Suzuki prior to signing his JGRMX deal and was said to be at home on the RM-Z450, however a late three-year deal with JGRMX saw him retained by Yamaha.

An official announcement on his future is expected to be released this week.
